UNJURY Medical Quality Protein for Health Professionals
I. UNJURY Delivers
UNJURY delivers the most important thing your patients need: Quality and Protein Quality.
In fact, the company was founded by an experienced dietitian on the principle that protein is the thing that is hardest to get from foods, not carbohydrates, not fat. And we believe protein is not just the hardest to get, but also the most important. In short,
UNJURY is optimized for protein.
UNJURY is not just optimized for protein; UNJURY is optimized for protein quality.
There are 3 questions about protein quality:
- How important is protein quality?
- What IS protein quality?
- How can you know the protein quality – for any one supplement?
How important is protein quality?
The risk is that the patient’s protein status declines, wounds do not heal, and immune effectiveness declines. In weight loss surgery patients, weight loss can plateau. In cancer patients, energy and strength can decline. In cases of long term deficiency, muscle loss can even affect vital organs including the heart.
What IS protein quality?
Protein quality – the nutritional value of the protein to the patient – is determined by the proportions of the Essential Amino Acids (EAAs) in the total protein. Dietary Reference Intakes (DRIs) are established for Essential Amino Acids1.
The Institute of Medicine has also adopted a protein scoring system for rating the ability of a protein to deliver required levels of each EAA. This score is called PDCAAS.
UNJURY has a PDCAAS score of 100, the highest possible score. Some supplements, notably liquid supplements that get some, or all of their protein for hydrolyzed collagen, have much lower scores, some as low as 22, 6 and even zero.
How can you know the protein quality – for any one supplement?
We believe any good supplement should publish an accurate Amino Acid profile.
A PDCAAS score can be calculated for the supplement. If you want to have a score calculated, just send us the Amino Acid profile at

II. UNJURY Works
We hear from doctors, dietitians and nurses – in hospitals, research institutions, medical practices, specialty clinics, home care and long term care: UNJURY Works.
"Thank you so much for sending me samples of your product, the patients
in the Oncology center LOVE all of them! ...The nurses are BEGGING for
more samples; this is one of the only products they have been able to
get the patients to drink and has been a lifesaver for some…” -- Oncology RD
“FYI: My mother is 77 years old and her physician told her she needed to eat more protein. She eats very small amounts and dreaded the thought of having to eat more meat. I provided her a sample of the chicken broth and chocolate protein powders and she loved both of them. She was happy to find something she could drink for an evening snack that wasn't heavy and tasted good.” -- RN
“We now have all three of our docs using the Unjury pre-op diet for 2 weeks
prior to surgery. The docs say it does reduce liver size and eliminates some of the fat, making the surgeries safer and easier.
The docs can also tell if a client hasn't followed the diet, and in one case he had to postpone surgery because the liver was too fatty and he couldn't complete the surgery. She later followed the diet, and he was able to do the surgery.” -- Bariatric RD
